We had an amazing stay here! Best aspects were the comfortable beds, great breakfast with regional bread, cakes, cheese, and cold meats, and the beautiful swimming pool with spectacular views. Also, the staff was very welcoming and friendly. We tried four different nearby restaurants, all were great!

This weekend was simply great. The hotel has a unique location and the accommodation & facilitates has a great value for money. The swimming pool has amazing views, and the hotel atmosphere is very romantic, which fits to the historical village. During the weekend I visited the famous vineyards of Reguengos de Monsaraz Cooperativa and Esporão, and less know, the Monte Limpo which is 1 Km away of the Hotel. The surrounding area is very rich in megalitism sites which brings a special espiritualism atmosphere to my weekend. Last, but not least, the food is unforgettable. The restaurant "Sabores de Monsaraz" beside the hotel and Adega Velha in Mourão village, are the right places to go.

This hotel was the perfect spot for our romantic getaway. With a beautiful swimming pool and stunning views, we couldn't have asked for a better location. the breakfast selection was top notch, with a variety of delicious bread and fresh fruit. We also appreciated the helpful staff who gave us insider tips on the local area.

Although our room was cozy and rustic, the bed was a bit too firm which made for some uncomfortable nights. the room could have been cleaner as we noticed a few stains on the linens.

The staff was alway gracious and helpful. While this was an interesting place, I would not recommend it for anyone with mobility problems. It is located in a very old building and retains its original (many) small staircases - I think there may be only one room that is handicapped accessible but the guest would still have a problem getting back into the building for breakfasts. While in Monsaraz, definitely try Sabores de Monsaraz retaurant which is very near the Estalagem.

While the room was kept adequately clean, the towels were threadbare, the floors were never vaccumed, and the TV did not work properly (picture kept rolling and there was no way to control it).

We were thrilled with the beautiful location just steps away from the medieval town. the view of Spain from the hotel's upper terrace was breathtaking. We tried several restaurants in the area and they were all excellent.

The cleanliness of our room did not meet our expectations.

We stayed at this hotel last year. Although remote, the scenery and historic hill top village is just worth the trip/stay.

The location, just outside the lovely village, was perfect. The fact that it was just outside the old city walls made it even more convenient. The view from my room was absolutely fabulous. I also enjoyed spending time in the garden, surrounded by the peaceful atmosphere. The swimming pool area was a definite highlight, with a terrace and chairs where I could relax and enjoy the view.

I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a luxurious and comfortable stay.

This hotel is one of the nicest I have stayed in. Monsaraz is a wonderful place if a little sleepy. Two really good restaurants, one run by two sisters who were wonderful. Views everywhere to die for. The hotel also has a pool which is a bonus in this part of Portugal which can get very hot in the summer. ighly recommended.

Excellent host and service in a most unique and wonderful setting. We will be back in the future. Being from Canada, a chance to stay in a medieval setting with excellent service and food was truly a highlight of our trip.

Despite some minor issues, we had a lovely stay at a charming hotel just outside Monsaraz. The location was picturesque with beautiful views of the Alentejo plains. The teared garden surrounding the pool was truly atmospheric and added to the overall ambiance of the hotel. Our room, although a bit old-fashioned, was cozy and had a comfortable bed. The breakfast was enjoyable, and the staff, though young, were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel for a unique and pleasant stay.

Great views, convenient location & friendly staff

Had a lovely Xmas stay with family in a hotel overlooking the beautiful Alentejo plains. The surrounding gardens with a pool is picture-perfect. We loved the stunning views of the countryside and the nearby lake. The staff was also very accommodating and friendly. We especially enjoyed the delicious breakfast spread and the complimentary parking that saved us the hassle of finding a spot in the village.

Although the location was great, the hotel is in dire need of general maintenance. The rooms were a little dark and could have been cleaner.
